Our Accreditations & Certifications Explained

Here at TWC we find it very important to operate at the highest standards in the industry and take the necessary measures to ensure this happens.

Our company and our team prides itself on providing the very best service and carry several different accreditation and memberships to support this. Whilst you might be familiar with seeing the logos, you may not know their full meaning, so this month we are shedding light on some of our certifications.

Alcumus SafeContractor

Our accreditation with Alcumus SafeContractor shows that our health and safety standards are up to date and that we meet the industry’s highest standards. Our customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing that our business has the relevant health and safety paperwork in place to meet industry requirements when working on site in and around your premises. Alcumus backs over 33,000 like-minded contractors that carry the SafeContractor badge, making it one of the most recognised and trusted health and safety certificates.

SMDSA

The Sanitary Medical Disposal Services Association (SMDSA) is a Trade Association that was formed in 1993 to maintain high standards within the sanitary, medical and clinical waste management industry. Playing an active role in the SMDSA, we are involved in regular meetings which provide a forum for discussion on all aspects of waste management licencing, procedures, processes, and legislation involved in the production, storage, collection and disposal of these types of waste.

We are always working to keep up to date with recent developments as regards to industry best practice, the Government, the Health & Safety Executive and the Environment Agency / SEPA etc. This gives our customers confidence in knowing we are working to achieve the highest standards in the industry, something we take seriously.

IWSA

As a member of the Independent Washroom Services Association we keep our customers safe in the knowledge that our washroom hygiene services are consistent and to the same high standard wherever they are provided within the UK. As an IWSA member we are continually vetted to ensure the standards are being met relating to our sales practices, installation of equipment, servicing, accounting and customer liaison, alongside 100% compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation.

We are also proud to use their eco-friendly products which helps TWC achieve a key objective of delivering its services without causing harm to the environment.

British Safety Council

The British Safety Council is the largest health and safety membership organisation in Britain. Being part of the BSC helps us to achieve a key objective – that none of our employees should be made ill or injured through their work. We strive for excellence in workplace health, safety and well-being; and as such invest in our team’s skills and education.

The TWC team receive continual training, improving their knowledge and skills in health, safety and environmental management.

Zero Waste to Landfill Supporters

The Carbon Trust Standard for Zero Waste to Landfill recognises that we take the best practice approach to waste management and actively divert all appropriate waste streams from landfill. Having this certification offers an independent, third-party validation of achievement in waste management and provides an opportunity to validate real achievements in managing solid wastes, demonstrating that our waste streams are being managed and that recovery, recycling or reuse solutions are being actively implemented.

TWC strives to make positive progress towards reducing waste. One example of the way we achieve this is the significant measures we have taken over the past few years to streamline our offices and the services we offer our customers by transitioning from physical documents to an ‘Electronic Document Management System’. TWC drivers now carry iPads, giving them instant access to customer information at the touch of a button. Customers sign for each service digitally and in return receive an electronic signed proof of service report. This has greatly reduced the amount of paper we use, and this is always good for the environment!
